VOSviewer

VOSviewer is a software tool for visualizing connections or relations within scientific research. This is done by using keywords or author names (bibliographical data) gathered from publication databases. Images in the form of linked clusters can be presented as a perspicuous data overview that covers citations, co-authorship relations, bibliographical coupling et cetera. 

The figure on the sign in the exhibition is a visualization of the most common keywords connected to the research of forests and sustainability at the Mid Sweden University. The bibliometric data that forms the basis of the image was collected from the abstract and citation database SCOPUS.

For further information about VOSviewer, please contact the University Library. There, VOSviewer is used to highlight and analyse relations within various research areas or to visualize keywords in search consultations.
