Seminar Series Part 1: Industrial, Infrastructural and Digital Transformation
The seminar series based on the anthology "Global Challenges – Local Solutions: Research for a Sustainable Societal Development in Northern Sweden" begins with perspective 1, which deals with "Industrial, infrastructural and digital transformation". The seminar is also open to external, invited guests.
"In recent years, Mid Sweden University has strengthened its research in industrial, infrastructural and digital transformation. In other words, it is about the new technologies that are changing our living conditions and the consequences that this entails for both individual organisations and society as a whole," says Kaarlo Niskanen, editor and professor of chemical engineering.
Preliminary program (room Fälldinsalen, campus Sundsvall), the times are adapted to fit with the trains Östersund-Sundsvall.

Part 1 - 11.00-12.00
a) Intro from the editor for each perspective (15 min):
Kaarlo Niskanen gives an overview of the perspective on sustainable social development in northern Sweden.
b) Panel discussion (45 min):
- Moderators: Anna Olofsson and Hans-Erik Nilsson
- Panelists: Mattias O'Nils, Birgitta Engberg, Mårten Sjöström, Johan Lilja
- Panel discussion including Q&A from the audience
Lunch break with salad - 12.00-12.30
Part 2 - 12:30-14:00
a) Intro about research applications that fit each perspective (30 min including questions):
- Presented by research advisors at GIO
- Focus on best practices, common mistakes, and success factors
b) Match-making mingling (45 min):
- Discussion of future research collaborations and applications
c) Compilation (15 min):
- Final words – info about the need for follow-up meetings/seminars (with research advisors)
