Elpress has grown from a local company in Kramfors to a publicly listed business with a global market, subsidiaries, and sales offices around the world — including the United States.

One of the challenges the company faces is attracting top talent while maintaining the warm and committed atmosphere that characterizes the organization. This was the task that business administration students Matilda Olsson and Filip Widén took on during their internship at the company.

“We are in an expansive growth phase, handling both new opportunities and the challenges that come with a growing organization,” says Johan Söderlund, Manager Product & Marketing at Elpress. He explains that management had already begun discussing the need to work on the company’s employer brand a few months ago to enhance Elpress’s appeal and ability to attract the right skills.

The production of complete crimping systems — including both connection materials and crimping tools — for electrical connections takes place at the factory in Kramfors, where the company’s R&D unit is also located. In Sundsvall, Elpress has a hub housing various functions, including the CEO, marketing, finance, and purchasing.

With the ongoing green transition, the demand for expertise in this area has increased even further, and the company needs to recruit new talent. Johan Söderlund explains that this is one of the reasons why they wanted to develop a marketing concept linked to their employer brand — a task that was handed to the interns, Matilda and Filip.

“It’s been a very educational five-week internship, where we really got to put theory and analysis into practice,” says Matilda Olsson. “The most enjoyable part was probably getting to visit the factory in Kramfors and see the production process firsthand, while also meeting all the employees who shared their knowledge and commitment with us.”

Filip Widén agrees: “The visit gave us a great overview of the company’s core values, which made it easier for us to develop the marketing materials that were requested. We later presented our work in a final briefing before the internship ended, which was well received — and of course, that’s always a nice bonus.”
