More about Demicom
The research is carried out in research groups that are active in four main areas: journalism, media development, organizational communication and political communication.
In media development , studies of media producers, content and media users in a new media landscape are analysed; how knowledge and information are produced, disseminated and used, and how these processes are affected by economic, technological, political and organisational conditions. This includes regular studies within the framework of the Swedish Newspaper Collegium.
The CORE research group studies organizational communication; how internal and external communication is related to organizations' strategic goals, leadership, and change; how globalization and communication technology affect communication and how organizations handle public opinion and crises related to their own operations.
Political communication and political journalism studies communicative processes and relationships between politics, media and citizens, with a particular focus on how the digital society affects communication strategies, media content and media use during election campaigns and dramatic events. This includes studies of strategic political communication and political advocacy in DEMICOM's regularly recurring election campaign projects.
We have extensive experience of commissioned research for both private and public organisations, such as the Riksdag and the Government, government agencies, interest groups and companies. Our researchers are also often engaged for specially adapted lectures and training days, including in the media industry, politics and administration.
