Hi there, Anke Peters!

What is your research area?

I want to explore ways that make ecological sustainable destination development more accessible for people working at DMOs (destination management organisations), human-nature relationships and how destination development can help us to 'bring nature back into our lives' - which is the aim of the European Biodiversity strategy 2030.

Tell us about your background

I’m from Germany and did my bachelor there in biodiversity and ecology. Then, I studied the master's programme in tourism here at Mid Sweden University and after that, I have been working at ETOUR as a project assistant in a project where we explored how wind turbines impact tourists perception of the natural landscape.
