The purpose of the project is to enhance knowledge about benefit realization in digitalization projects by applying practical methods, processes, and tools within municipalities. The project will be conducted as part of the GovTech Challenges research school and, like the other projects within the program, can be described as a challenge/doctoral project that complements and deepens the overarching research question within GTC.
The primary target group is municipal residents, as they have the right to hold authorities accountable for how expectations and promises are fulfilled. Moreover, digitalization is fundamentally a democratic issue that, in many ways, reshapes our shared society. Additionally, in politically governed organizations, both civil servants and politicians play central roles, and in this project, they are identified as key target groups where knowledge development and dissemination form the foundation for creating a sustainable digital society.
The project will be conducted as a longitudinal action research study based on an empirical case.
