Child Trauma Network

Our network aims to understand the causes and consequences of child abuse in different cultures. The project will generate knowledge to develop interventions to improve the mental and physical well-being of affected individuals.

This project seeks to understand child maltreatment (neglect and abuse of children), its causes and consequences across cultures. The project comprises a network of more than fifty international researchers from around the world who are using systematic reviews, meta-analyses, experimental approaches, psychophysiological measures and online surveys to summarize the current state of knowledge and to examine the influence of child maltreatment on lifespan development by means of various projects.

We are also working on the development of interventions to improve mental and physical well-being and the quality of social relationships in affected individuals. Our network comprises both junior and senior researchers and we are organizing online workshops and outreach activities to support the initiation of new projects and to disseminate knowledge to a diverse audience.
