HUSS ‑ Hybrid Teams under Special Healthcare Leadership
This project focuses on special healthcare leadership teams (SSL) and what happens if/when the organization of SLL is conducted through hybrid solutions due to societal disruptions.
Today, we are experiencing a more tense global situation than in a long time. This is also noticeable in Sweden, with military buildup and deliberate efforts to increase society's preparedness. Events in nearby areas clearly show that infrastructure, such as electricity supply, is a prime target for attacks as it has a significant impact on society. To handle a societal disruption, various actors in society form a temporary organization with the aim of helping the organization to fulfill its mission during the event. Before the pandemic, crisis management predominantly took place in physical rooms with specialized technology for this purpose.
A management group that works as a team with a clear goal and where everyone depends on each other's contributions is, according to previous research, more successful than groups that work in silos based on their own areas of responsibility. Crisis management in the form of a special healthcare leadership team (SSL) is a type of management group that is well-positioned to act as a team with the aim of achieving results and quality. This project focuses on SSL and what happens if/when the organization of SSL is conducted through hybrid solutions due to societal disruptions.
The purpose of this pilot study is to understand how SSL is structured and operates within the regions of Västernorrland and Jämtland Härjedalen, and what challenges SSL faces when it comes to hybrid organization of leadership teams during special events (societal disruptions, MSB).
