
The main objective of the project is to create conditions for cross-border cooperation for a stronger border region between municipalities, teachers, higher education institutions and student teachers.
About the project
Both Jämtland County and Trøndelag County have major problems recruiting and retaining qualified preschool teachers and teachers. Both regions are also struggling with a declining student base for these teacher training programs, which causes problems for municipalities, educational institutions and society at large. In addition, there is a problem with the narrow recruitment base, where, among other things, few men and people with minority backgrounds do not choose to train as preschool teachers/teachers. There is also currently no structured cooperation between different teacher training programs and between border municipalities in the education sector in NGB. We want to address these challenges by working across the NGB from various aspects of collaboration.
Why is the project needed?
Within the framework of the project, we connect local and regional actors in preschool and school but also three universities with researchers, teachers and students. Through dialogue meetings, networks and workshops, we connect relevant actors such as teachers, principals, students and school principals across the national border and contribute to greater common knowledge, experience and learning and create relevant networks for different interest groups.
