The student in 100% focus : establishment of systematic quality work throughout the value chain
The research examines how municipalities ensure systematic quality in education from policy to the classroom. Focus includes describing the quality management model, supporting processes for implementation, and how the model ensures 'student focus 100%', along with organizational culture factors.
Purpose and description:
This study aims to develop an understanding of how municipalities can identify and ensure the successful implementation of a systematic approach to quality in education at all levels in the value chain, from policy documents to classroom planning and management; one where core values are used to guide development over time. The following questions guide this study:
- How is the municipality's systematic quality management model described, communicated, and visualized in schools?
- What processes and structures are used to support the implementation of the systematic quality management model in schools to achieve educational goals?
- How is the systematic quality management model used in schools to ensure "student focus 100%"?
- What organizational culture factors are important for establishing an integrated use of the systematic quality management model in schools?
Expected goals and results/deliverables:
This study contributes new knowledge to assist municipalities and schools in Sweden and other countries in developing processes to support the full integration of systematic quality systems in education to achieve the goals and values of sustainable quality in education. The project fills a gap in practical and theoretical knowledge to support schools and municipalities in implementing systematic quality systems in education. Specifically,
- Identify processes that can be used to support the adoption and use of the model by all members of an organization.
- How information can be collected and used to identify needs and continuous improvements and support decision-making.
- How to integrate values and customer needs with goals.
- How school leaders can integrate the systematic approach to quality in all aspects of the school's work and learning environment.
