Self‑service FAQ

Student med böcker
  • If you are unable to borrow using the self-service stations, it may be due to one of the following:

    Login Information

Do you have the correct login information? Miun students and staff log in with the same credentials as for the student web and staff web. Others log in with their personal identification number and the password they have chosen.

    Is it the right book?

Have you collected the book from the reservation shelf? Check that the borrower number on the slip in the book matches the number in the email you should have received from us. If these do not match, the book is not reserved for you, and you cannot borrow it. Place the book back on the reservation shelf where you took it.

    Fees

If you have fees of 200 SEK or more, you will be automatically blocked from further loans. Review your loans and fees via My Pages. Come back during staffed hours to pay your fee.

    Activated account

If you have applied for a library account via our website but have not yet had your account activated by staff at the information desk, you cannot borrow. Come back during staffed hours.

    Restart the self-service station

If the self-service station has stopped working, you can try restarting it by using the on/off button on the underside of the screen. Press once to turn off and once again to restart. Wait for the program to start up. Restart occurs automatically after a few seconds.

If none of the above resolves the issue, come to us during staffed hours for further assistance.

Books that have not been borrowed may not leave the library!

  • Interlibrary loans, that is books that have been borrowed from other libraries in Sweden, can only be borrowed during our staffed hours. Make sure to visit the library during the manned opening hours to collect the book you have ordered. Bring a valid ID.

If you want to return an interlibrary loan, you can put it in one of our return boxes and we will take care of it the next weekday.

  • If you don't have a Miun key tag you can return books in the return boxes found by the entrance to the library buildings. We empty the return boxes on the next weekday.

  • If you have returned a book in the return boxes outside the library, the book is not registered as returned until the library staff empties the box the following weekday. There may therefore be additional late fees, if the book is considered late.

If you have a Miun tag and enter the library, you should always return the book via the self-service station, then it will be registered as returned immediately.
