Opening of the exhibition "Kroppens Kartografi" at the University Library
Mid Sweden University will host the Polar Law Symposium 2024 on 23–25 September. In connection with the conference, the research network Båskoes is arranging an art opening at the University Library in Östersund, where the exhibition "The Cartography of the Body" is shown, with a focus on the drawn map as a means of power and the right to define a place.
On 23–25 September, Mid Sweden University will host the Polar Law Symposium 2024; At this conference, science is shared on various polar-related issues.
In connection with the conference, the research network Båskoes will hold an art vernissage at the University Library's premises in Östersund. Båskoes was formed to stimulate research discussion about South Sami culture, history and society. The network is an association of researchers from Mid Sweden University and representatives from the Sami community. The exhibition "Kroppens Kartografi" concerns the drawn map as a means of power and the right to define a place and is on display in the University Library until 31 December this year; artist Malin Ståhl will be present on Wednesday 25/9 at 12–14.
