Eivind Torp leaves the Truth Commission
Eivind Torp, researcher in Sami rights at Mid Sweden University, is leaving his position as one of 12 members of the Truth Commission for the Sami people.
"I have chosen to leave the assignment in the Truth Commission for the Sami people because I have a different opinion than the other ordinary members of the commission on key issues relating to the commission's work and direction," writes Eivind Torp in a comment to Sámi Radio.
Eivind Torp is an Associate Professor of Law at the Department of Business Administration, Geography, Law and Tourism (EJT). He has researched Sámi rights and legal issues for more than 30 years.
