For the autumn semester of 2024, just over 17,200 people have been admitted to studies at Mid Sweden University. This is shown by figures after the first selection. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to last year, when just over 15,800 admissions were decided.

"We increased last year and we are increasing this year as well, which we are pleased. Education and skills development are necessary to build a future, sustainable society, not least in our part of Sweden. Now it is important that everyone who has been admitted to an education or course remembers to accept their place so that it does not fall to anyone else," says Marie Häggström, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Education at Mid Sweden University.

More than 17,200 admissions to Mid Sweden University have been completed in the first selection, of which just over 4,100 are in programme programmes and just over 13,000 in courses. In total, just over 324,000 people in the country have been admitted to higher education this autumn – an increase of over 19,000 people or just over six percent compared to autumn 2023.

"We are increasing by just over 9 percent compared to last year, which is slightly higher than the country and of course gratifying. It is also great to see that a total of 33 out of 39 universities and colleges are accepting more applicants compared to autumn 2023," says Marie Häggström.

In the first selection, just over 2,400 of those admitted are linked to education and courses at Campus Sundsvall and almost 1,900 of those admitted are linked to Campus Östersund. The remaining admissions are for distance learning options and these cannot yet be linked to any of the campuses.

After the first selection, many are still placed on the waiting list at Mid Sweden University. Applicants now have until 19 July to accept their study place. After that, a new selection is made and on July 25, a new admission decision is sent to those who were placed on the waiting list in the first selection.

Mid Sweden University offers more than 100 different programme programmes and more than 300 courses for the autumn. For some programmes, it is still possible to make a late application. Late registrations will be processed subject to vacancies on the programme. See more at www.antagning.se.
