Three specified areas are in focus in the current agreement; Mid Sweden University's research centres, which is a profile bearer for Östersund, the development of Östersund municipality's activities through research and collaboration, and strengthening student collaboration linked to skills supply for the public sector and business.

"Our collaboration with Östersund Municipality is constantly deepening and broadening. An important component of this is our research collaboration agreement. It continues to be an important injection for our research in a number of areas and at the same time contributes to the municipality's positive development, something that is also important for the university," says Anders Fällström, Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University.

"We are pleased that new important projects that strengthen Östersund have been granted funding. The collaboration agreement and the collaboration with Mid Sweden University have provided the conditions for important and interesting research and we look forward to future projects. Valuable initiatives for research have come from both Mid Sweden University's researchers and the municipality's employees, which is gratifying. The research will make both Mid Sweden University, Östersund and the municipality of Sweden better," says Anders Wennerberg, Municipal Director, Östersund Municipality.
