Environmental Science BA (A), Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), 7.5 Credits
The course focuses on practical applications of GIS. Various problems that can be studied and analysed using spatial data will be the starting point for identifying and developing solutions. The geographical examples used in the course are mainly from environmental science. Using GIS, students will study how problems can be analysed, presented and what possible solutions may exist.
The course uses open source software and student-owned hardware, so all knowledge and software skills will be directly available to the student in any work or learning situation, even after the course.
