Human Geography BA (A), Introduction to Human Geography, 15 Credits
The course is aimed for those wishing to obtain a foundation in human geography concepts, theories and methods. Students will gain knowledge about the interaction between people, society and the environment, and how social, economic, political and cultural processes play out in different geographical settings and at varying scales, from the local to the global. What are the links between economic, social, political and spatial processes? What opportunities and challenges do places, regions and communities face in relation to global flows? These are examples of questions that will be critically discussed in order to understand how people interact with places. The course is given in English.

The structure of the teaching
Campus course: Teaching takes place in classrooms on campus.
Distance course: The course is online-based and requires access to a computer with internet connection, camera and headphones.
Teaching takes place in the form of lectures, seminars and exercises. Group work, presentations and discussions based on different themes are recurring elements. Compulsory attendance is required at examinations.
Excursions may occur. The students are assumed to be responsible for travel costs during excursions/field trips unless otherwise specified.
