Aim
The purpose of the course is for the student to acquire knowledge in how to film with drones in accordance with the Swedish Transport Agency's requirements for the Open Category of drones and relate to national rules and regulation as well as ethical issues with drone use.
Course objectives
After completing the course, the student must be able to:
- describe the laws and regulations that regulate drone flying and drone photography for the open category of drones in Sweden.
- describe and discuss ethical and moral issues regarding the use of drones.
- use different dramaturgical concepts when filming with drones.
- apply methods for filming, editing, and publishing the drone videomaterial.
Content
The course contains theoretical and practical elements on how to tell stories with the help of drone video and images. The students will practice filming with drones through various practical tasks. The course also includes theory on how to fly and use a drone from a ethical perspective regarding drone use. The course places great emphasis on the national law and regulation that a drone photographer must know.

M100: The Swedish Transport Agency's drone license A1, A2 and A3, Assignment Report, 1.5 Credits
Grade scale: Fail (U) or Pass (G)
M200: Literature seminar on ethical issues concerning drone use, Seminar Assignment, 1 Credits
Grade scale: Fail (U) or Pass (G)
M300: Practical individual task various dramaturgical approaches with drones, Visual Assignment, 1 Credits
Grade scale: Fail (U) or Pass (G)
M400: Practical individual task in publishing of drone images., Visual and Written Report, 4 Credits
