Aim
The purpose of the course is that the student by working on his research project will gain additional knowledge in, relevant to the project, scientific theories, methods and techniques.
Course objectives
Upon completion of the course the student should be able to:
- Use a theoretical or experimental main method, depending on which is best suited for the scientific project.
- Analyze, evaluate and communicate obtained results based on theoretical and experimental knowledge according to the individual course planning that defines in detail the scope and depth of the above listed areas.
Content
The course covers in-depth and project-specific elements that fully or partially include theories, models, experimental methods, and tools. The content is defined to the scope and depth of the individual course planning that is established by the supervisor together with the student.

Selection rules and procedures
The selection process is in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the local order of admission.
Teaching form
The course starts with the supervisor establishing an individual course planning that is project-specific and which, in addition to the content, defines the form of teaching and course literature. The course consists mostly of self-study and individual work.

The examination consists of one or more reports in accordance with the individual course planning.
