Secure digital workplace
The safe digital workplace is a digital environment that brings together tools, applications and platforms that employees and students at Mid Sweden University need to be able to work efficiently, regardless of device or location. The aim is to promote smooth collaboration, enable flexibility in the work environment and at the same time ensure a high standard of IT and information security.
What is included in our digital workplace?
Efficient client management
Computers, such as employee laptops, computer lab computers and functional computers in the library or service center, as well as mobile phones, are installed in a standardized manner and equipped with a basic set of software.
It is also possible to install special software via self-service (software center or self-service), and continuous updates ensure that the devices are always up to date with the latest software, virus protection and encryption.
M365
In addition to the usual office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook (email and calendar), the Microsoft 365 platform also includes tools for planning, such as Planner, as well as tools for discussion, idea generation, collaboration and document sharing, such as Teams.
Storage
Microsoft's cloud-based data storage services, OneDrive and SharePoint, offer flexible solutions for file management and collaboration:
- OneDrive: The employee's personal storage space to save and manage their own files.
- SharePoint: A common platform for storing and sharing files within a team.
Both OneDrive and SharePoint allow you to store and share files, collaborate with colleagues in real time, and work together on documents.
EduPrint
Mid Sweden University's cloud-based printing service offers a follow-me-printing solution. This means that you can send print requests remotely, from both computer and phone, and then download these for printing on any printer on campus.
Telephony & communication services
In addition to regular telephony services, Mid Sweden University also offers telephony via Teams, which is linked to the employee's phone number (both fixed and mobile). Mobile phone management is centrally managed to ensure high security standards and access to a basic set of apps, such as Microsoft Authenticator for multi-factor authentication.
Telephony & communiication services
Electronic signing
Digital signing of documents can be done both via the internal service eduSign or via Scrive, if you need to share the signed document with external parties.
Safety
Firewalls, VPNs, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) protect data and networks from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
Administrative work with a focus on continuous improvement
The goal of the management of the safe digital workplace is to create and maintain an attractive, inclusive and secure digital work environment that is adapted to the needs of employees and students.
