On 1 October, the last of a series of workshops will be held in Östersund, the aim of which is to increase the chances for researchers to be published internationally. The workshop is aimed at researchers who want practical support before publication.

Volker Mauerhofer, professor at EHB and Felix Dobslaw, senior lecturer at KKI, run the ALP project "Publish or Perish". The title, which may seem a bit harsh, is about the importance of being published, and the project aims to provide answers to how to succeed with that.

"We hope to increase knowledge about writing abstracts for scientific journals and conferences, how to choose suitable journals and how best to manoeuvre through the process before publication," says Volker Mauerhofer.

The workshop on October 1 is in Östersund and is the last one planned. Places are limited and registration is required to get a place. Registration is binding.

"We turn to researchers early in their careers, primarily doctoral students. It's good if you have an abstract in the pipeline that we can work with during the workshop," says Felix Dobslaw.

The workshop is in room G3217. Schedule for the day:

08:30 - 10:00: Intro Session
10:00 - 10:30: Coffee break
10:30 - 12:00: Abstract Writing: Theory and Interactive Task
12:00 - 13:00: Lunch

15:00 - 15:30: Coffee break
15:30 - 17:00: Abstract Pitching Session 2
