Mid Sweden University's new vice‑chancellor appointed | 2017 |
It is now clear who will replace Anders Söderholm in the post of Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University. The government has hired Associate Professor Anders Fällström from Umeå.
The news is presented in a press release from the Ministry of Education and Research.
"I wish Anders Fällström the best of luck in his assignment as Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University and look forward to a constructive collaboration in the future," says Helene Hellmark Knutsson, Minister for Higher Education and Research.
Proposed in September
This means that the ministry listened to Mid Sweden University's board, which already in September proposed Fällström as the new vice-chancellor.
Anders Fällström will be the new Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University.
"Anders Fällström has a strong academic background, good leadership skills and experience of university management. This corresponds well to the requirements profile we have worked according to in the recruitment work and I am convinced that he can develop and pursue the university's ambitions," says Peter Nygårds, Chairman of the Board.

Anders Fällström is 49 years old and born in Sollefteå. He is a mathematician and currently works at Umeå University as Deputy Vice-Chancellor. He will take up the position as Vice-Chancellor of Mid Sweden University on the first of April next year.
The appointment is six years long.
