Your place or mine? – Mid Sweden University and collaboration
This seminar is about collaboration with organisations outside of academia such as municipalities, business and non-profit organisations. The seminar is part of Mid Sweden University's 20 year celebration. Sit in the audience – or take part in the broadcast online! The seminar is held in Swedish.
There is a great deal of interest from various quarters in making research and education available and co-produced in collaboration with various societal actors. For universities, collaboration means an opportunity to contribute to societal development while at the same time enriching research and education. UKÄ recently reviewed the higher education institutions' work with collaboration and in its recommendations emphasises a uniformity in terms of organisation and governance.
At the same time, the university landscape is variegated, with major differences in conditions, size and collaboration traditions. Despite a strong and growing interest, however, many actors often find universities closed and difficult to establish contact with.
How can we find ways to collaborate that benefit both the university and the rest of society? What does the future of collaboration look like? The seminar highlights both challenges and opportunities with collaboration.
The seminar will be based on four short lectures by invited speakers:
Mats Jägstam, Vice-Chancellor of University West, former CEO of Science Park Skövde, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor of Jönköping University and CEO of the spin-off company Evoma AB.
Björn Brorström, former Vice-Chancellor of Borås University, now Chairman of the Board of Kristianstad University and previously board member of SUHF and UHR.
Lars Liljedahl, Municipal Manager of Härnösand Municipality and former Head of Administration in Orsa, Bräcke and Östersund Municipalities.
Jenny Grip, Operations Manager at Samling Näringsliv and board member for RF SISU Jämtland Härjedalen and Peak Innovation.
The lectures will be followed by a panel discussion with all the speakers. The seminar is led by Vice-Chancellor Anders Fällström and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Anna Olofsson.
