Nautical Education Starts in | 1842 |
The same year as the teacher seminar, 1842, also started a navigation school in Härnösand. It was shut down as late as 1992.
The education was divided into two tracks, with one leading up to a skipper degree and the other to a certificate in nautical science. During the first year, 21 students were taught. In 1985, the Swedish Parliament decided to close down the School of Navigation in Härnösand and the last nautical education was held there in 1992.
