Regional funding
Here are links to some of the more popular local and regional financiers.
Interreg
Interreg is aimed at stimulating cooperation between regions inside and out of the European Union. There are a number of different programmes under the Interreg-umbrella, all funded by The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Here, we especially want to highlight Interreg Aurora, whose programme area covers all of the Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish parts of Sápmi. Within the programme, there are funds allocated to Sámi language and cultural activities, as well as to research about and with the Sámis.

The Kempe Foundations
The Kempe Foundations fund research done by institutions and individuals located and active within the Norrbotten, Västerbotten and Västernorrland counties in northern Sweden. Within these counties, prioritized areas are those where Mo & Domsjö AB and other companies owned by the Kempe family have been active.

Länsförsäkringar
The foundation Länsförsäkringsbolagens Forskningsfond supports scientific research connected to safety in everyday life. The research needs to contribute to increasing financial and physical safety in society. And the focus of the foundation lies on needs-driven research. This foundation is one part of Länsförsäkringar’s involvement in the Swedish civil society.

The Regional Structural Fund Middle Norrland
The aim of the programme is to invest in regional growth and contribute to employment in Middle Norrland. Its priorities are based on the strategies and priorities for development of the counties of the region. Among other things, the programme aims to increase the competitiveness of small and mid-sized companies, to strengthen research, technological development and innovation, and also to increase access to, the use and quality of information and communication technology, and to promote sustainable transport.
NOTE! MIUN has its own internal routines for applications to the regional structural fund and the national regional fund. All applications are reviewed internally before being sent to Tillväxtverket. For general information and information about dates, email Karin Olsson at the HUV secretariat or email Fanny Burman at the NMT secretariat.
