Craving lunch? Look here!
Today, the temporary restaurant opens in the Students' House on Campus Östersund. The regular restaurant on campus is currently being modernized and rebuilt, and until the opening of a new restaurant, lunch will be served in the Student House.
Those who still have lunch vouchers that were previously valid at Restaurant Cultum will be able to use these also in the temporary serving and it will also be possible to buy lunch boxes.
During the summer, the restaurant on campus has been given new owners. The new ownership constellation includes, just as before, the Student Union in Östersund as the majority owner with 51%. Behind the other 49% is KMM Nöjen, which has run Marité and the restaurant at Östersund Arena for several years.
The agreement between the parties was finalized during the summer and the renovations began in week 33. The goal is for the new restaurant to be inaugurated at the end of October/November. During the construction period, lunch and coffee will be served in a temporary lunch service in the Students' House.

"The new ownership constellation has exciting plans for the restaurant as well as for the indoor and outdoor areas at building G. Therefore, renovations are now taking place, which means that we will have to start the autumn term with a temporary restaurant solution in the Students' House. There has previously been catering in that room, so we expect it to go well, although visitors may have to expect longer queues during the construction period," says Bengt Lehman, premises planner at Mid Sweden University.
The existing kitchen in building G has recently been upgraded with some new equipment and will be fully functional even during the construction period, making it possible to prepare lunch, as well as coffee and handle catering orders.
