ChallengeEU: the beginning of a new chapter
On 12 March, nine European universities gathered in Offenburg, Germany, to sign a consortium agreement and officially launch ChallengeEU, the European University Alliance (EUI) of which Mid Sweden University is a member.
The aim of the alliance is to increase the mobility of students, academic staff and the research community, as well as to improve the quality and competitiveness of European higher education. The alliance includes 80 associate partners from fields such as science, business and public administration.
"Strong international collaborations in both research and education are crucial to successfully strengthening our department," says Vice-Chancellor Anders Fällström and continues:
"ChallengeEU will play a significant role in student and faculty mobility, the development of attractive programmes, cooperation with our regions and further enhance the quality of research, education and regional partnerships. Academic freedom is also something ChallengeEU should work actively on – especially in view of the current developments in the US and large parts of Europe.
Our partners in ChallengeEU are:
- Hochschule Offenburg (Germany) – Project Coordinator
- Southeast European University (North Macedonia)
- ECAM LaSalle (France)
- Universidade Europeia Lisboa (Portugal)
- University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland)
- Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvia)
