Cleaning and waste sorting
Cleaning is of great importance for a good work environment and health for Mid Sweden University's staff and students. As a workplace, we also need to think sustainably and environmentally conscious, where source sorting is part of that.
In addition to cleaning offices and public areas, cleaning at the University also includes window cleaning, floor care and deep cleaning. Mid Sweden University hires the company Städning Coor Norrland Lokalvård AB to manage cleaning at the university.
The following applies according to agreements regarding the frequency of cleaning:
- All offices are cleaned once a week (you empty your trash yourself)
- Staff and public toilets are cleaned five times a week*
- Staff rooms are cleaned five times a week
- Deep cleaning and window cleaning takes place once a year
- Floor care is done if needed
- The supplier is responsible for supervision and replenishment/placement of consumables in the properties' premises, such as soap, paper towels and toilet paper in toilet areas and paper, dish brushes, dishcloths and dishwashing liquid, as well as dishwasher detergent in break areas/break rooms
- Cleaning, if necessary, of paintings and refilling pens in the classrooms
Regarding cleaning, there is a standard level that applies to the entire university and quality controls are carried out based on INSTA 800.
* Cleaning time in public and staff areas takes place every weekday between 06:00-18:00 not Saturday, Sunday or other public holidays.
You are always welcome to contact us if you have comments or questions regarding cleaning.
Ordering extra cleaning
Of course, it is possible to order extra cleaning at different times, if you have questions or wish to make such an order, you are welcome to contact us at Campus Services by submitting a case in the Service Portal or get in touch with us by calling the Service Center.
All employees at Mid Sweden University sort their own waste
This means that if you have a waste bin in your office, you must empty and sort the waste yourself in a recycling room that is located in each building on Campus Östersund and a waste room on Campus in Sundsvall.
The bins contain different compartments for compost, plastic, metal, corrugated cardboard and glass. On the bins there are stickers on how it should be sorted. Paper is left in the paper recycling in each mailroom.
Both Åkroken and Åkanten on Sundsvall's Campus have a waste sorting room where you can leave lamps and batteries, for example.
