Template for independent projects
On this page, you will find downloadable templates for independent projects. The course coordinator makes the templates available to the students in the course environment.
In order to make it easier for students to complete their independent projects, and to simplify reporting in DiVA, Mid Sweden University has developed a Word template. It is available in both Swedish and English.
Only you who are logged in as an employee at Mid Sweden University can view and download the templates on this page.
The front page of all independent projects must be designed according to the template. The appearance of the front page is specified in the graphic profile manual, which is a steering document. The front page content is decided based on the procedure for managing independent projects, reg no MIUN 2012/403. The procedures for each faculty are linked on this page, where information on publication terms is also available. The submission (the pages that follow the front page) is decided on by the subject representative, or a person appointed by the institution.
Information about the template and the mandatory front page will be published in the course environment by the course coordinator.
Front page of the template
On the first page of the document, the information about the independent work must be filled in. There must not be pictures on the front page.
Subtitle, course code/registration number information and information on educational programmes are optional and filled in if considered relevant, otherwise these lines will be removed.
Approval for publication in DIVA
On page two of the template there is now an approval for publication in DIVA that students should fill in.
Other pages of the template
The document also contains examples of the Table of Contents and the formats that are built into the template. Each subject or institution has the possibility to adapt the template to its needs. However, these adaptations shall always be based on the template to ensure the availability of documents. The front, however, should look the same in all independent works.

On the front page of the document, please fill in the information below. Images are not allowed on the front page.
Title: The title of the independent project
Subtitle: A subtitle is optional. If there is no subtitle, delete ”subtitle”
Author: The author´s first and last name
Document type: The name of the course/orientation of the syllabus
Main field of study: The main field of study, level and progression
Credits: The number of credits for the independent work
Semester/year: The current semester and year
Supervisor: The first and last name of the supervisor
Examiner: The first and last name of the examiner
Course code/registration number: This information is optional and written down if considered relevant. Otherwise – remove the entire line.
