Checklist after you have been accepted
Finally, it's almost time for a new semester! If you have been accepted, you should do so now.
To get a smooth start to your studies, there are a few things you need to do and keep track of. For example, get a MiunID, register and make sure you access our e-services.
-
1. Take note of your welcome letter and bibliography
In the welcome letter from your education, you will find important information for your studies. Among other things, you will find information about when the training starts and what digital tools the training uses, such as our learning platform Moodle.
If you are studying a programme, you can see which courses you are going to take in your programme syllabus in the welcome letter. You will find the course literature for each course in the respective course syllabus, which you can search for in our course syllabus search.

OBSERVE! The information in your welcome letter can be replenished as it approaches the start of the semester or course. Feel free to download it again near the start and you will have the latest info!

2. Create a MiunID
NOTE: You can create your MiunID no earlier than 20 days before the start of the course for the spring semester courses and 30 days for the autumn semester's courses.
With a MiunID, you get access to our e-services:
- Ladok, where you register for courses, register for your exams and can see your study results.
- University Library's e-services.
- The learning platform Moodle.
- The e-meeting tool Zoom.
If you have studied at Mid Sweden University recently, you do not need to get a new MiunID, but use the same login details as before.
Forgot your login details?
If it has been a long time since you read with us, your user information may have been deleted and therefore you need to get a MiunID again. -
3. Register (no earlier than three working days before the start of the course, requires MiunID)
In order for you to start your course or programme, you must first register. You can register in Ladok, which you can access via your student account on the student web. Please note that it can take up to a day from the time you create your MiunID until you can proceed and register in Ladok.
A registration is important for you to receive your credits, but also student aid from CSN.
Once you have registered, you will become an active student and will have access to the learning platform Moodle (or equivalent platform, see your welcome letter) and our teaching facilities (by using the MIUN card).
-
4. Seek study support
If you are in need of pedagogical support, you must apply for it at least one week before the start of the course so that we can help you.

-
5 Get MIUN Tag
The MIUN tag can be used as an access card, print and copy card, among other things. Soon, the tag will be able to be used as a loan document at the library and as an identification document for security guards. To be able to get a MIUN tag, you need to have a current course registration and a MiunID.
-
6. Get accommodation if you need to move
Both Sundsvall and Östersund have housing guarantees for students. In order for it to apply, you must actively seek housing and meet the requirements for the guarantee. It is also important that you apply for housing as soon as possible.
-
7. Get course literature
Almost every course comes with a list of literature that is included.
Borrow course literature at the University Library and if the book is on loan, you can join the queue.

8. Find your schedule
Search for course or programme schedules in our schedule search. If you are taking a distance course completely over the internet, the schedule may not be available in the schedule search. Then you will find information about times and arrangements in your welcome letter.
-
9. Participate in introductory activities for new students
For those who want to get to know fellow students and student life on campus, the student unions' introductory activities are a given to participate in!

10. Learn more about student support and services
Being a student is a great time! But even though it's fun, you may need a little help and support sometimes.
For example, you can get help with health-related issues, study techniques or starting a business. Take a minute to familiarize yourself with what you can help you with.
-
11. Go into the learning platform Moodle
Mid Sweden University's web-based learning platform is called Moodle and you can access the platform with your MiunID. Some courses use a different learning platform, and this is stated in the welcome letter. Mid Sweden University also offers the e-meeting tool Zoom to its students.
You must also be registered for a course to access Moodle. From the time you register for a course, it takes about 60 minutes before you see and access your course in Moodle. Feel free to watch the video about how Moodle works.Information about the e-meeting tool Zoom
P.s Be nice to each other! In order for everyone to enjoy themselves and get the most out of their studies, it is important that we think about how we express ourselves in our physical and digital classrooms. It is never okay to insult, insult or otherwise disrupt teaching and the work environment. ❤
