Inspera Hallexamination means that you write your exam on your own computer instead of on paper. It is easier for you as a student to get structure on what you submit at the same time as handling and correction becomes much smoother.
This is how the digital exam works
The exam is conducted on your own computer (not Chromebook)in the exam room on campus. You write your digital exam in the Inspera Assessment system using a specially adapted browser, Safe Exam Browser, which you need to download to your computer in advance. The browser locks the computer so that you can only access the resources specified by the teacher as permitted aids.
You use your student account and password both to log in to the computer and to log in to the exam. So it is important that you remember your login details.
To start the browser, you need to enter a password that is entered in the examination room.
While writing your exam, your answers are saved every fifteen seconds. If you want to submit a blank, you contact an invigliator who will help you with that. Please note that you cannot re-open the exam once you have submitted it.
Before you write your first digital exam, it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with how the system works. There is a demo exam that you can write as many times as you like. You can access it by logging in to miun.inspera.com and going to the Demotenta tab.

Installing and testing SEB
Inspera written exams are written in a locked browser called Safe Exam Browser (SEB). When in use, you can't open other programs or files on your computer.
Download and install SEB from "Demotenta Safe exam Browser" in Inspera: You should not open SEB, but go directly to the demo exam and complete it, this to ensure that everything works.
Do not download SEB from any other site, then there is a high risk that you will get the wrong version.SEB does not work on Chromebook, see Borrowed computer.
Download SEB and take the Demo Exam
If you write on campus, you must connect your computer to the Eduroam network.
If you are writing elsewhere, you can use the network available at the writing location.Common issues
- SEB has been downloaded from the wrong source - uninstall and download SEB from the Demo exam as above.
- Other programs interfere with SEB, e.g. Teams, Steam - shut down that program.
- Fingerprint certification - turn off the feature.
- Windows 7 or older - book a loaner computer if you are going to write on Campus.
- Chrome browser is preferred
If you have problems with your installation, please take a screenshot of the problem and email inspera@miun.se and describe what your problem is.
