Law
Law is about the legal rules that exist in society and how the legal rules are to be applied. Whatever we do and wherever we are, there are rules that govern our rights and obligations. Without an orderly set of rules for our actions and our interactions, society would not function.
Studies in law provide you with knowledge of the rules that govern society and that form the basis of the entire social structure. Knowledge of the legal rules as well as their function and effect is of great benefit regardless of the area or sector in which one works.
In law, all aspects of the legal system are studied. At the same time, law is a practical subject where teaching is based on real cases. Knowledge of the law therefore often proves to be easy to apply in working life. The law is divided into different areas of law, such as civil law, public law, criminal law, procedural law, environmental law, EU law and international law.
Mid Sweden University offers, in addition to law overview courses, courses in commercial law and public procurement. Law is included as the main field of study within the Administrative Law Programme and as a complementary subject within the Business and Economics Programme and the Human Resource Management and Working Life Programme. Courses in law are given at Mid Sweden University's campuses in Östersund and Sundsvall as well as at a distance.
