Mechanical engineering is the field that connects many subjects into an exciting, development-oriented field of engineering. In mechanical engineering, computer aids are a natural work tool. This applies to all stages of the product development process, from sketching out a project to designing and manufacturing the product.
In mechanical engineering, Mid Sweden University can offer academic degrees at undergraduate and advanced level, including Bachelor of Science in Engineering. The degree programmes offered in Mechanical Engineering at the undergraduate level are the Bachelor of Science in Engineering programmes Sport Technology – Bachelor of Science in Product Development, 180 credits, and Additive Manufacturing – Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, 180 credits. At the advanced level, there is the Master of Science in Industrial Design Engineering programme, 300 credits, which includes a large part of mechanical engineering, and the Master's Programme in Additive Manufacturing, 60 credits.
After studying mechanical engineering, there is a large job market with many different types of jobs to choose from. Many work with the development of products and processes, often linked to international contacts and projects. Working as a designer, project manager, marketer or salesperson are also natural professions after studying mechanical engineering.
