Öppen gästföreläsning: Wildfire – Landscape attachment and Taskscapes
Based on empirical data from recent forest fires in Sweden, SLU researcher Andrew Butler will examine the relevance of landscape attachment and the importance of understanding landscape practices and activities in relation to forest fires.
The presentation will consist of three parts. The first focusing on the 2014 fire in Västmanland, will reveal the relevance of certain activities prior to the fire for fostering higher sense of well-being after the fire. The second part will look at the loss of landscape perceived by Sami after the fires in Härjedalen and Dalarna in 2018. The final section will engage with needing to understand peoples use and attachment of landscapes prior to instigating management practices to reduce fire risk.
Welcome to room O212 in Östersund Thursday 11 May at 13:00 or listen via Zoom.
