Inaugural lecture: My passion for radiation imaging / radiation imaging detector
Ralf Hendrik Menk is a professor of electronics/detector technology and will talk more about his research during his inaugural lecture at the Academic Ceremony. The lecture is open to the public
Ralf is a physicist whose research focuses on the development of detectors for ionizing radiation, particularly the kind produced by synchrotron radiation sources or free electron lasers. Over the course of his work, he has also developed and implemented new imaging techniques for this radiation to study matter and biological systems at different length scales.
Drawing on practical examples, Ralf aims to share his passion for imaging and detector development, particularly the challenge of designing and building systems that enable new scientific discoveries using accelerator-based photon sources.
The work he will present has contributed to advancing the understanding of physical phenomena and highlights the impact of innovative detector technologies in photon research.
