Aurélio Menegon, professor of mathematics, conducts research in singularity theory and will provide insights into his work at the Academic Ceremony. The lecture is open to the public.
In singularity theory, the focus is on investigating and understanding complex geometric shapes that do not behave as usual. In his research, Aurélio Menegon explores how we can understand and explain what happens when ordinary geometric shapes change their character. This research forms a foundation for understanding how black holes work or can contribute to improving algorithms in areas such as computer graphics, among other things.
